"This is an audio-reactive algorithmic visual art piece that uses the concept of charged particles and flocking to simulate a organism that is alive and composed of micro-organisms. An impressive work of art Director Jopsu Ramu from Musuta Ltd. (a multidisciplinary design agency based in Helsinki & Tokyo) who has created together with Shun Kawakami (artless Inc) an artist and designer from Tokyo - a piece titled Urban Abstract. This digital art piece is being shown as the November break bumpers on one of the biggest commercial TV channels in Finland: TV Nelonen.

Faltan pocas semanas para Art Futura Barcelona 2009. Festival de cultura y creatividad digital que cuenta con la presencia de referentes del new media, diseño de interacción, videojuegos y animación digital. La cabecera de este año corrió a cargo de Magnus Östergren.

OFFF 2009 main titles

Este vídeo ya tiene unos meses pero vale la pena verlo. Son los créditos de apertura para el festival OFFF 2009 creados por Prologue films. Entre sus trabajos están también los créditos para MTV Video Music Awards 09 NYC y son magistrales; he intentado encontrarlos en vimeo y youtube para subirlos pero no ha habido manera, podéis verlos en su web.

"this video shows the latest version of a project i like to call "disko" or "v+" or "my beautiful darling", etc... The data(rotation speed, needle position) i get out of a white timecode vinyl is not only used to control sound but also animations which are projected directly onto the vinyl itself.
in this short demo i define objects which trigger samples and change their appearance when "hit" by the needle. The timecode's speed data controls rotation, colors and sample pitch.
by reading out the timecode's needle position the computer can tell "exactly" when a virtual object is being hit by the turntables needle".

Guten Touch

Designed for the Red Bull Music Academy 08, Guten Touch is an interactive installation that involves people into a natural relationship with technology. A two projected display system plus a 3m x 2m multitouch wall showcase applications designed to engage us into human friendly experiences rather than flashy and jaw-dropping visualizations. Space Invaders hitted by foam balls, pixel paintings created with brushes and digital objects holded by hands try to blur boundaries between real and digital.
